Girls Varsity Golf · Seahawk Golf Competed in States

The Myrtle Beach Girls Golf team traveled to Hilton Head to play in the 4A State Championship at Barony Golf Course at Port Royal Resort. Myrtle Beach shot a team score of 380 on the first day in the 20 mph wind and rain to end the first round in 8th place. Scorers were, Jaiden Vaugh 90. Taylor Pirrtima 91, Essie Rike 95 and Madison Hinde 104. Tuesday the weather was totally different, sunny skies and 64 degrees to start the morning and still a wet course. The Seahawks, shot a team score of 363, improving 17 strokes but still finished 8th in the State. Leading scorers were, Taylor Pirttima with a 85, after shooting a hard luck 46 on the front, she shot a 2 over par 38 on the back starting out with 6 straight pars, Essie Rike with a 87, Jaiden Vaugh 93 and Sophia LiVigni 102, playing in her First State Championship as a freshman. The two day 36 hole tournament was 747. The team looks to improve next year with the same team intact.
